Customizable Templates Save Even More Time

You'll save time on data entry as well. The new Patient Quick Entry screen enables you to create customized patient demographic and case screens so you only have to enter data into the fields that you actually use.

In fact, you can create different templates for all of your most common data entry forms such as a "Cash Only" patient record that bypasses insurance-related fields, or a "Medicare patients" data record that captures all of the required Medicare-related information. You can create default entries for selected fields and make sure that required fields are filled in. You can even set up UB04 templates.

You'll also save plenty of time by not having to switch back and forth between patient and case screens and making your way through all those tabs!

Little Things Mean A Lot

Annoying tasks like looking up patients whose last name has changed can waste hours of your staff's time, not to mention all the frustration. That's why this new version includes a handy tool for automatically replacing all of a selected patient chart number with a new chart number that matches the changed name, all in just a couple of clicks.

And the ability to perform time-consuming tasks when no one is on the time clock is another way that Medisoft increases productivity and saves you money at the same time.

That's what the Task Scheduler is all about. This handy function lets you run routine file maintenance like rebuilding indices and packing data, as well as calculating patient balances, on a timetable of your choosing such as after normal business hours.
The Task Scheduler can also update the Patient Reminder Balance field automatically. If a practice is using Office Hours, patients with outstanding balances can be reminded or requested to make a payment when they check-in. If an Appointment List is printed for the practitioner, this field can also be included if desired.

And because losing all of your data can eat up a lot of time as well, this new version gives you a Backup Reminder every time you log off the system.

Another little enhancement that saves so much time is the View Transactions button which opens a Read-Only Transaction Entry window with the same account from the Deposit List. In previous versions, opening the Apply Payment to Charges window in Deposit Entry locked out all other program features. Now your staff can multi-task and not waste valuable time waiting for files to become unlocked.

ERA Date Enhancements

In earlier versions of Medisoft practice management software, the only two payment date options available in the ERA program was the date on the ERA file and the system date when the ERA file was posted. Version 14 includes a Prompt for Date option which allows you to specify the payment date. Select this option and whenever you post payments you will be prompted to enter the date you want to appear on the payments.

And if you've been putting off sending Electronic Statements because of all the time and attention it takes, this new version makes it so easy that you'll no longer have any excuses. Electronic statements tend to get paid faster because their professional appearance gets them noticed. Statements are one of those things that tend to get "postponed" in alot of offices because of lack of time, and then the cash flow suffers, but no more. Now with Electronic Statements your bills get sent and your staff doesn't have to spend all that aggravating time folding, stuffing, licking and stamping envelopes! And the cost is not much more than the price of stationery and stamps.

The program tracks the date that the patient went into collections and you can use this date to trigger the intensity of each successive collection letter.

Version 14 includes the ability to print paper UB-04 insurance forms, including a format that prints with the form. Additionally, this version includes a UBFILE.EXE file that allows print image creation similar to the HCFAFILE.EXE and CMSFILE.EXE files.
